The Bell in Vacuum Experiment is a classic physics demonstration that uses an audible buzzer in a vacuum to show how sound waves require a medium through which to travel. The set includes an acrylic bell jar, a rubber stopper fitted with lead plugs, and an electric buzzer. As air is removed from the closed system inside the bell jar, the sound of the buzzer becomes proportionately fainter.
