• SELECTIVE GROWTH MEDIUM || 1000g bottle of powdered growth medium. Used to grow, maintain and study gram-negative bacteria in petri dishes or culture tube slants.
• DIFFERENTIATING GROWTH MEDIUM || Eosin-methylene blue (EMB) agar can differentiate lactose-fermenting bacteria from non-fermenting bacteria.
• EASY TO PREPARE || Simply mix 36 g medium with 1 L deionized water and bring to a boil while stirring to ensure medium is completely dissolved. Pour into petri dishes or culture tubes, then allow medium to cool and harden.
• EXCELLENT FOR LABORATORIES AND CLASSROOMS || Ideal for use in general biology and microbiology laboratories and classrooms. This medium will only allow gram-negative bacteria to grow. Lactose fermenting bacteria will form colored colonies while non-lactose fermenting bacteria will grow colorless colonies. E.coli colonies will display a characteristic green sheen to aid in identification.
